Constitution of the organization

SEDEM is a society. It has a General Body and a Governing Body. The Governing Body is elected in the General Meeting held every three years.

Joined the Government of India through IAS and Allied Services examination in 1957 and retired in 1992 as Secretary, Government of India

Post retirement activities

Mainly agriculture extension services and capacity building & Training
  • Consultant Organic Farming & Social Activist on Environmental issues, Global Warming, Women Empowerment & Rural development.
  • Chairman of Committee setup by Govt. Of N.C.T Delhi on Organic Farming. (2002 – 2003)
  • Ministry of Defence, Dept. of Resettlement, Project with SANCHAR (NGO) to train Defense personnel in Organic Farming at two centres in Dehradun & Haldwani (Uttarakhand). (2004-2006)
  • Service provider to Govt of India, Ministry of Agriculture with SANCHAR; trained 1500 farmers [2006-07]
  • Trained 3500 women farmers in Organic Farming & documentation for certification, in Organic Farming in Alwar District Rajasthan. (2006-2007)
  • Trained 12000 male and female farmers in Organic farming in district Hissar, Haryana, setup 15 demonstration units. (2008)
  • A 3-year project with SANCHAR (NGO) for training male and female farmers in Organic Farming in Almora District, Uttarakhand; trained 1600 male and female farmers and setup 18 demonstration units, distributed 500 copies of book on Organic Farming to the trainees, this project was sponsored by G.B Pant Himalayan Institute, Almora under the Ministry of Environment. (2009-12)
